Head Quarter maintains reserve police force which will be used for guard duty, escort duty and many other regular duties.It also arrange basic police training sessions. In the situation of law & order, police head quarter provide Reserve Police force to handle the situation. Reserve Police Inspector of Head quarter control the discipline, training, canteen, store, armor room, building maintenance, quarter guard which are under observation of Home Deputy Superintendent of Police and Superintendent of Police.

In Police functioning communication plays an important role. The control room performs role of communicator between field staff and Controlling Authorities at all levels. The Control Room also monitors the movements of force and ensures proper execution of orders.
At times during critical situations and in the absence of Senior Officers/Unit Commander, the Control Room Officer has to take decisions, give directions to the officers present on the spot, if required dispatch forces to assist the police officers on the spot and to promptly communicate important events to the Unit Commander, othe senior officers and DG Control Room.

Working of Local Crime Branch (LCB),Solapur Rural :
This Branch has major importance in police department. This Branch is involved in major criminal probes and very sensitive crime detection. The Staff of LCB is very Intelligent and brilliant to face any type of crime detections. Investigation area is whole district so this branch perform parallel investigation with police stations in major important crime. This Brach is especially organized for maintenance of various types of records of Crime and Criminals. It has following sub-branches.
2. Anti Dacoity Squad (ADS) :
This branch prevents, detects Property crimes mostly Dacoity & Robbery offences. Anti Dacoity Squad is one of best crime detection teams in the Maharashtra.
3. Modus Operandi Bureau (MOB) :
This branch collects information of Modus Operandi of Crime and maintains the records like Known Criminal Register, History Sheet Register, Convicted Persons Registered and MCR. With this information it helps the investigation officers by giving suggestion with respect to the offenders likely to be involved in offences.
4. Finger Print Branch :
This branch collects and maintains Finger Prints. Experts Visits the Crime scenes and take Chance Prints. They search through the Finger Prints Data- base of arrested accused and provide the identical finger print to the investigating officers.
5. Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) :
This Squad has been organized in view of increasing Terror and Naxal Activities in the state. It scans public places and VIP/VVIP visit spots for explosives. In case of identification of any explosive substances the squad disposes it securely.
6. Scientific Aids To Investigation (I Car Unit) :
This unit help to investigate the crime using scientific technique and advance technology. When any offence take place, this unit approach to the place of occurrence, search the evidence scientifically i.e. finger print, foot print or any other clues for trace out the criminal and help to investigate the crime.
7. Anti-Terrorism Cell (ATC) :
This Squad is organized at Solapur Rural Police Head Quarter after 26/11 terrorists attack in Mumbai. This squad collects the information about suspect terrorist and their activities and takes appropriate action to avoid any possible attacks.
8. Dog Squad :
Solapur Rural District Police having one Dog Squad unit with 4 dogs, which are highly trained in detection of Explosives / Crime.

Working of District Special Branch :
District Special Branch is very important in the structure of district Police organization. This Branch plans and designs the structure arrangements during Festivals, Elections, Examinations, VIP, and VVIP Visits in the district and co-ordinate with Police Stations.
This branch collects confidential information in advance regarding activities of various organizations, Movements & activities of various political parties. This information is then analyzed and the input is send to the State Intelligence Department (SID) as well as to the police stations concerned to take necessary actions.
This branch also deals with Character verification, Passport verification, Cases of noise pollution and recommendation for various licenses.

In Motor Transport Department 02 officers & 339 Police employee are deployed for the various works. It includes 126 two wheelers & 383 four wheelers vehicles & drivers are deployed for the vehicles according to the rules. Vehicles are provided to the police forces according to the daily requirements.

This is a specially created cell especially to look into the grievances of women and cases of domestic violence. Women social workers and members of Non Governmental Organization have been taken on the panel. They hear the cases of victims and other family members and try to bring about settlement between them by counselling.The cases not settled are sent to Police Station for legal action. This section also deals with trafficking Women of Children and the children in conflict with law.
Solapur Rural Police is running a Women Protection Cell for the protection and welfare of women's. This Cell is social wing conducted by Police. The women who is a victim or troublesome women whose husband or mother in law or ohter have made atrocities on her or have some family problem such a women came to the police station or directly to the women protection cell. The complaints received in police station or referred to the Women's Protection Cell. After registering the complaint Women Protection Cell issue notice to applicant or non applicant. The staff in Women Protection Cell along with social worker tries to salve the problem by counseling. If both parties satisfies then Women Protection Cell is succeed in their mission to protect the women.

Foreigners Registration Office is the primary agency to regulate the registration, movement, stay, departure and also for recommending the extention of stay in india.
FRO Solapur Rural office deals in Registration, Extensions, Return visas, and processing of exit permission.
‘C’ Form For Foreign National Staying on Rent/Lease/Paying Guest:
The Foreigners (Report to Police) order 1971 made by the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Foreigners Act, 1946. As per this order every householder of other persons should report to the FRO Solapur Rural Office about the arrival or presence of his household or in any premises occupied by him or under his control of any foreigner. Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under Section 188 of I.P.C. The keeper of the hotel shall, as soon as it may be, but not more than 24 hours after the arrival of any foreigner, transmit a copy of duly completed Form C to the FRO Solapur Rural Office.
“Hotel” includes any Boarding House, Club, Dak-bungalow, Rest house, Paying Guest basis, any hostel and other premises of like nature.
Working Hours:
FRO Solapur Rural Office is open from Monday to Friday between 10.00 am to 12.30 pm for processing of extension, return visa, exit permission and departure. 03.00 pm to 05.00 pm for new registration.
It is closed on every Saturday, Sunday and Public holidays.
